This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their “Personally Identifiable Information” (PII) is being used online. Who we are

Our website addresses are AuRiseCreative.com (our business website), TessaWatkins.com (Tessa’s personal website, formerly the business website), and Just1Voice.com (Tessa’s educational and advocacy website).

What personal data we collect

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or other details to help you with your experience. When visitors leave comments or product reviews on the site we collect the data shown in their respective forms, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment or product review the content and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments and product reviews automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, have made purchases, or have left comments or product reviews, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. Where we send your data

Google

Google’s advertising requirements can be summed up by Google’s Advertising Principles. They are put in place to provide a positive experience for users.

California Online Privacy Protection Act

CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law’s reach stretches well beyond California to require any person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting PII from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared. According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

  • Users can visit our site anonymously.
  • Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it in the footer of every page of this microsite.
  • Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’ and can easily be found on the page specified above.

Any Privacy Policy changes that occur will take place on the Privacy Policy page and the date at the bottom will be updated with the date of the day the change was made.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.

We do not specifically market to children under the age of 18 years old.

Fair Information Practices

The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. CAN-SPAM Act

The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

We collect your email address in order to send information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions

To be in accordance with CAN-SPAM, we agree to the following:

  • Not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses.
  • Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.

By scheduling an online consultation or registering for a Zoom event directly on our website, relevant data will be sent to Zoom for registration purposes. Any meeting that is recorded for public use may use your audio and/or video upon consent at the start of the recording. You may revoke consent at any time by disabling your audio and/or video during the event or exiting the meeting.

All meetings hosted by us will enable Zoom’s default automatic live transcriptions at the start.

As a provider of products and services, we utilize several technologies and platforms to engage in online payment transactions.

Harvest

RedBubble

We utilize Redbubble as an option for selling products online. For information on how your PII is kept private and secure on their platform, please refer to their privacy policy.

Stripe

We utilize Stripe, Inc. for managing online payments. For information on how your PII is kept private and secure on their platform, please refer to their privacy policy.

Cash App

We utilize Cash App, a service of Block, Inc. (formerly known as Square, Inc.) as an option for managing online payments. For information on how your PII is kept private and secure on their platform, please refer to their privacy policy.

Venmo

We utilize Venmo, a service of PayPal, Inc., as an option for managing online payments. For information on how your PII is kept private and secure on their platform, please refer to their privacy policy.

Venmo may disclose your personal information to their parent company, PayPal Inc., companies that get merged or acquired by their parent company, and others as outlined in their privacy policy. For more information, please refer to PayPal’s privacy hub, particularly their privacy statement and how they can hold the balance for up to 180+ days or be subject to a minimum of $2,500 USD fine per violation for activities such as transactions involving “certain sexually orientated materials or services” or providing “false, inaccurate, or misleading information” which is purposely vague and under their discretion as to what that includes.
