Website Development

I specialize in creating WordPress websites with a smooth user experience for everyone. I can do everything from designing your website to pushing it live.

Getting Started with a New Website

Creating a website is a linear process, so here is what you can expect when you work with me.

Bare Minimum

If you already have a market, audience, and brand established and all you need is to get your business or organization online, you’ll just need the basics. If you already purchased some of these, then great! I can work with that.

  1. Domain name
  2. Web hosting
  3. Web design
  4. Web development
  5. Email address using your domain (optional)

Maximum Effort

If you have grand ideas but no idea on how to get started, let alone what you need, let’s talk! You’ll need the bare minimum and maybe some of these.

  1. Market & Industry research
  2. Competitor research
  3. Target audience focus research
  4. Digital strategy / purpose of website
  5. Logo & brand design

Costs for a New Website

Don’t let big companies fool you into thinking a website costs $5,000. If you know what you’re doing, you can have one for under $100. You just need three things to make a website.

  1. Domain Name & Domain Privacy ($): Most domain names are about $12 per year. If you already have a domain name, then that’s great! I can walk you through on configuring the DNS settings or you can pass me the reins and leave it to me. Domain privacy is sometimes included for free or is a paid addon (also like $12 per year). This protects your privacy and I always recommend it.
  2. Web Host ($): If you don’t have web hosting, you can host with me. I totally understand working on a small budget and can help you choose web hosting that’s right for you, even if that’s not with me. Many of my clients take advantage of a cheap promotional offer with a bigger company for their first term and then switch to me before it expires when their promotional price more than doubles for the second term.
  3. Web Design & Development ($ – $$$): this might be as simple as using a free template in a CMS and customizing it for your business or it can be complicated and expensive to pay for completely custom design and source code. This is usually where that $5,000 goes. I’m happy to set things up for you to take control, or you can be totally hands off, or we can do it somewhere in the middle. I charge an hourly rate and I am totally flexible on how we want to go about this because I often partner up with local designers and design companies that will do the design work and then outsource the development to me. If you love someone else’s design or you’re a designer yourself, I can bring it to life!
