If you need access to a key/value pair in the PHP $_POST variable, you can get it by using the CF7_POST shortcode and the key attribute. The value of the key attribute is the name of the key in your $_POST variable that you want the value for.

If I had a $_POST variable with the key foo and I wanted to dynamically populate a form field with its value, the value of my dynamic field would use this:
CF7_POST key='foo'And the form tag would look like this:

In a later version of Contact Form 7, a default:{source} option was added for form tags. In order for this method to work, the name of your form tag needs to match that of the key from your source. Using the same example from above, the form tag would look like this:
[text foo default:post]While we’re glad to see this functionality make it into the core of CF7, DTX offers the flexibility for mapping keys to form fields with different names.
